Derek Carrigan, Partner
Derek joined Lawford Kidd as a trainee in 1998, qualified in 2000 and was assumed as a partner in 2006. He has history and law degrees awarded by the University of Glasgow. Derek handles industrial accidents and road traffic accidents.
Derek has a trade union background and, as part of his union case load, he recently obtained over £400,000 for a victim of asbestos related mesothelioma. He also recently settled a road traffic accident claim, with the global settlement for the six pursuers amounting to £700,000, one of the most significant settlements following the commencement of the Damages (Scotland) Act 2011, which came into force on 7 July 2011.
