Olympic hopeful sues following car crash

A dressage rider with a promising career ahead of him is suing for damages after his legs were badly damaged in a car crash, reports the Telegraph.

Sonnar Murray-Brown had hoped to be part of the British Olympic dressage team before the car in which he was a passenger was involved in a car crash in 2009.

He claims the driver, a former friend, lost control of the car while driving too fast, and hit an oncoming vehicle. The resulting crash left the 23-year-old with extensive damage to his legs, effectively ending his chances of competing at the top level.

He is seeking a minimum of £300,000 in compensation from the driver.
